Yesterday, while sweating my butt off on the treadmill at the gym, I watched about a half hour of the World Cup soccer match off between Iran and Portugal. I am not a soccer fan in any way, shape or form, but I have been very interested in the games this year. Ever since Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad (the world's most famous Holocaust denier, despiser of Israel, and wannabe wielder of nuclear arms) claimed he may show up at the games, many have compared Iran's involvement in the World Cup(in Germany, no less) to Adolf Hitler's use of the Berlin Olympics in 1936, to promote his views. Thankfully, he didn't show. I knew through news reports that if Iran lost to Portugal, they would be out of the World Cup. I am happy to report, they did. YEAH!!! Viva la Portugal!!!
