U of I faces a test of academic freedom

This is a great article by Patrick Gillen (assistant professor at the Ave Maria Law School and council for CatholicVote.org). Professor Ken Howell was dimissed recently from teaching a class on Cathoicism because he taught the catholic view of homosexuality. A student not in the class, complained to the Department of Religion chair, Robert McKim, and he was fired for "hate speech". Unbelievable. Apparently, freedom of religion and free speech take a back seat to political correctness.

First they dump the Chief and now this. This is so sad for the U of I. This isn't an example of "zero tolerance" either I believe. If he were Muslim, no one would have dared say a word.
