Today, the 36th anniversary of Roe v. Wade, hundreds of thousands of pro-lifers are participating in the annual March for Life. The dark cloud looming overhead is the whether or not our newly elected president will use his executive power to undo Bush's restrictions on abortion and enact the FOCA (Freedom of Choice Act). This act, with the stroke of a pen, will undo all hard fought restrictions on abortion. It will establish federal funding for abortion, here and abroad. Moreover, it will force Catholic hospitals to violate their consciences and perform abortions. We hope and pray that President Obama will not do that. There is a new film playing in selected theaters (also available on DVD) called 22 Weeks. It tells the true story of an abortion, and what happened when the child survived.
