it's a ridiculous review. gore never claims that cars are a bullet in the gun pointed at our head. in fact, i don't recall the movie having the word "holocaust" mentioned once. additionally, the opening sentence of that article was completely unnecessary and inappropriate. the fact that the author appears to be jewish just illustrates that being an idiot is religion independent.

in fact, gore states the problem lies in our governments inability to regulate and pressure the auto makers to produce cars that are more fuel efficient and to produce cars that use some sort of alternate fuel source. it's a fact that amercian made automobiles have the worst fuel economy of any car manufactured in the world. this means the japanese, chinese, swedes, germans etc. have all figured out how to produce more efficient automobiles than the americans and it's time for us to catch up on that front. i firmly believe we need to have stricter fuel economy standards and force the manufacturers to adhere to them. it's the only thing arnold is doing in california that i whole heartedly support. the rest of the country to should follow their lead.

I believe the Gore's Holocaust reference comes from his book EARTH IN THE BALANCE, not the film. But the point is, if you are going to compare something to the Holocaust, you set yourself up. Yes, the author's views are extreme...but as he says, he is simply taking Gore's view very, very seriously.

if he was taking his views "very, very seriously" he wouldn't be mocking him - he would be very, very concerned.

Not everyone agrees with the data on global warming, hence the satire. The Green Movement actually began as a result of Paul R. Ehrich's book THE POPULATION BOMB,written in 1968. In the book, he predicts that over population will lead to world wide famines in the 1970's and 1980's. Well, he wasn't much of a prophet. Food rates today are the highest per capita in history. Erlich's book is a repetition of the Malthusian catastrophe. This type of "end of the world" crap is part of the protestant tradition of this country. I don't buy Gore, the preacher's, argument. Moreover, there have been reported cases of human rights violations in regards to this issue. The Ford Foundation funds population control measures around the world. In Latin America, "free clinics" were sterilizing women without their consent. The religious fervor surrounding this movement is eerily similar to other leftest movements that lead to totalitarianism.
